(Security - Defence) - Deputy Defence Minister, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, held talks with Cuban Deputy Minister of Revolutionary Armed Forces, Sen. Lieut. Gen. Joaquin Quintas Sola, in Hanoi on September 18.

The two sides informed each other of their country’s economic, political and social situation and compared notes on regional and international issues.

They reviewed the implementation of the agreement on defence cooperation reached by the two ministries in 2011.

Host and guest also reached consensus on the orientations for cooperation in the coming time with a range of activities such as exchange of delegations at all levels, training Vietnamese and Spanish languages for military students and sharing their viewpoints on issues of mutual concern, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world at large.

The same day, the Cuban delegation paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The Cuban delegation is visiting Vietnam from September 15-21.-VNA
