The Vietnamese leaders emphasized in their consolatory messages that this is a great loss for Cambodia’s royal family, Senate, National Assembly, government and people.

Viet Nam has no longer a great friend who has always sided by and given the Vietnamese people valuable assistance and close friendship in the struggle for national independence in the past and the present-day cause of national development, they said.

They confirmed that Viet Nam will be eternally grateful to such assistance and will spare no effort to strengthen the long-standing friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Former Cambodian King Norodom Sihanouk passed away at the age of 90 on October 15 due to natural cause when he was in Beijing for medical check-up.
